Such a Quiet PlaceThank you so much to Simon and Schuster and Megan Miranda for my ARC of Such a uiet Place I loved Miranda s last book so I couldn t wait to get my hands on this one There is just something about her writing that raws you in from the very first page This book was about Harper a woman who lives in a uiet community near a lake Her neighbors are also her colleagues at the college nearby and everything seems idyllic until the couple next L'analyse des organisations door is murdered When Harper s roommate is convicted she tries to move on 14 months later Ruby is released after evidence shows it may not have been her who committed the murders When Ruby shows up at Harper soor acting like nothing ever happened Harper isn t sure what to think Harper starts getting threatening notes and suspicion is back all over the neighborhood The neighborhood watch starts back up hoping to prevent future crimes but they might just be too late Thoughts As always I love Miranda s writing It is so easy to follow and interesting to read I liked the character of Harper and connected with her immediately The setting was intriguing especially that most of the neighborhood worked at the same college There were lots of interesting characters and it was a fun Perfectibilists: The 18th Century Bavarian Order of the Illuminati (English Edition) domestic thriller I wanted from the ending but it was still satisfying if a bit predictable Itefinitely has an eerie feeling and you Changer le travail... oui mais ensemble don t know who to trust which is always a great feeling in a story 4 stars for this solid thriller and as always I am a big fan SUCH A UIET PLACEBY MEGAN MIRANDAAbout a 45 star ratingSince reading Megan Miranda s first breathtaking novel called All the Missing Girls she set the bar extremely high for herself and I think other fellow reader s of this genre that have read her books after that just might agree Such a uiet Place in my humble opinion comes in very close to herebut I The Illuminati: The Secret Society That Hijacked the World (English Edition) don t really know if when an author writes such an amazing first book if we just assume that every one written after that is supposed to be eually as excellent I know that I have read each and every book after herebut and I think that this one is probably as close to her first one in living up to her wonderful imagination and her prowess of crafting a fantastic mysteryI really enjoyed Such a uiet Place The narrative was seamlessly written and flowed giving us a taut and suspenseful plot We already know by reading the synopsis that Ruby s conviction has been overturned after nearly fourteen or fifteen months of her serving a prison sentence for a Adolescentes mamans: Histoire et Actualité double homicide of the nextoor neighbor s to Harper who were Brandon and Fiona Truett They El nuevo orden mundial (ESTUDIOS Y DOCUMENTOS) (Spanish Edition) died of carbon monoxide poisoning in their house when their vehicle was left running in their garage and the insideoor was left ajar Their og barking in their back yard and the neighbor s all being an idyllic little community of cookie cutter houses were all shocked and Ruby who it seems was responsible So when Ruby comes waltzing back to the scene "Of The Crime After "the crime after released she just walks right back in to Harper s home without even knocking on the oorHarper was Ruby s old roommate moving in after Harper s boyfriend Aidan moved out unbeknownst to Harper that he was planning on moving out More than few of her neighbor s knew that Aidan was planning on moving out You can imagine the utter surprise when Ruby comes back uninvited and without any prior notice to the neighborhood including Harper Hollow s Edge is the neighborhood and most of the neighbor s work as Harper Secret Societies: ...and How They Affect Our Lives Today (English Edition) does for the School system Their is a neighborhood pool and a lake and an online community bulletin that the neighbor s post to that usually announces pool get together s neighborhood watches and gossipRuby spends no time at all barging back into Harper s home and the neighborhood at Hollow s Edge Ruby takes Harper s car the nextay saying that she has an appointment with her lawyer and stays gone for over forty eight hour s but coming back with new clothes groceries and offers to make Le travail en chantier dinner Whereid Ruby really go Can she be trusted that she Théorie critique du lobbying: Revendication des petites et moyennes entreprises (Logiques politiques) did in fact meet with her attorney I got the impression that not all was what it appeared to be on the surface I kept reading this as there is something else that happens and among the many neighbor s there are many ambiguous vibes that permeate the many mysteries of the past and present I hope that the fans of Megan Miranda enjoy this latest offering as much as Iid I Corsica Dream do agree with the synopsis that this one is among her best so far There were many twists and turns and when it gotark I had all of the lights off in my house and I admit to being scared as I raced to the conclusion I Qualité de vie, risques et santé au travail (Psychologie du travail) didn t guess the ending Iid have an idea about Ruby s guilt or but this novel Health Economics and Policy:Selected Writings by Victor Fuchs: Health Economics and Policy Selected Writings by Victor… didn tisappoint and kept me guessing as there is much suspense I Freemasonry For Beginners (English Edition) do recommend this highly ando think that fans of All the Missing Girl s will find this to be just as thrillingPublication Date July 13 2021Thank you to Net Galley Megan Miranda and Simon Schuster for generously providing me with my ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review All opinions are my own SuchauietPlace MeganMiranda SimonSchuster NETGALLEY I VE COME TO EXPECT I ve come to expect things from Megan Miranda I m yet to read her first but the rest have been consistently good way above average in the ever popular genre that s heavily populated with average And yet this one kind of stretched those parameters Which is to say it was still good very We had no warning that she’d come backHollow’s Edge used to be a uiet place A private and idyllic neighborhood where neighbors AFRIQUE CONTEMPORAINE 2014/2 N.250 dropped in on neighbors celebrated graduation and holiday parties together and looked out for one another But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett A year and a half later Hollow’s Edge is simmering The residents are trapped unable to sell their homes confrontedaily. .
Eadable lots of fun and appropriately twisted in all the right places but overall somehowless so Basically too thin of a plot gets hung up precisely on the tenterhooks of excellent writing and a savvy sociopsychological message This is a neighborhood thriller or to be precise a locked neighborhood thriller A small water adjacent enclave populated with people working in a local university not just neighbors but also coworkers and friends people tightly enmeshed in each other s lives some might say unnaturally so Everyone knowing each other s business watching judging stowing away secrets But uietly You know that thing Sartre said about other people Well anyway welcome to the neighborhood Idyllic well maintained well surveilled It s such a uiet place With such nice people in it Until a couple of them turns up Face à nos différences : Universalisme et relativisme (Psychologie Politique) dead in their own bed under mysterious circumstances and another one of the neighbors Ruby is arrested for it Ruby somehow gets convictedespite very thin and purely circumstantial evidence and no motive and serves fourteen months before her conviction is overturned upon which she returns right back to the neighborhood right back to her rental share and right back to her alarmed and severely freaked out landladyfriend The latter is our narrator so you get her perspective which is essentially informed mostly by either passiveness or passive aggressiveness something uite popular in her neighborhood She s essentially much too nice to ask Ruby to go or even so much as say no to Ruby so the two of them play weirdly charged games with each other None of the rest of the neighbors are happy about the situation but some are considerably less so than others The situation simmers boils and then boils over resulting in a tragedy Which is you know not great for property values after all how many L'analyse des organisations, tome 1 : Une anthologie sociologique, les théories de l'organisation dead bodies can one small place handle and all that So that s basically the story A bunch of thoroughly unpleasant people who think themselves to be the oppositeo terrible things to each other for mostly all the wrong reasons It s the tragedy of errors really When you get to the end and Miranda hits you with that excellent twist you just goah tall fences get taller fences people Proverbially or otherwise The thing isI really love what she s saying here in this book it resonates on a profound misanthropic level But it Du bien-être des nations : le rôle du capital humain et social does take a long time to say it and with a thin plot and lack of likeable characters it s especially noticeable The noveloesn t rag Miranda s too much of a pro for that in fact it reads very uickly it s just that it leaves you wanting than just a morality tale about a certain class and type of people But then again if that s all there is it s still plenty for a pretty entertaining read And as always her plot twists are lovely and genuinely unguessable at least not all the way which is good "Because I Was Too "I was becoming of an expert armchair etective and missed being surprised So all in all good not great not author s best but a fun read all the same Recommended Thanks Netgalley Definitely my favorite Megan Miranda book This was an intense thriller with rama and mystery The writing was perfect and the story pulled me in immediatelyRuby comes back to her neighborhood after being accused of murder She marches right back into Harpers life Who Was Her Roommate was her roommate the murder and trial The neighborhood is suspicious of Ruby along with Harper who is set on finding out the truth I will efinitely be recommending this book t ARC receivedThank you so much Simon Schuster I m excited to get to this one I was so excited to receive this ARC I started reading it immediately Megan Miranda is a wonderful writer I ve only read a few of her books but I ll gladly snatch up her new ones without fully reading the synopsisThis uick read kept me up too late trying to figure out who Le migrant clandestin (Penser le temps présent) dun it Can t wait for MM s next one A friendly group of neighbors for the most part find themselvesevastated after Brandon and Fiona Truett are found Le projet, le territoire et autres contingences: Regards sur l'action collective dead The Truett s weren t the most popular neighbors but they weren t awful enough to warrant murderor maybe they were The cozy group of neighbors are even shocked when one of their own Ruby Fletcher is convicted of their murder But that s nothing compared to what comes next It s been about eighteen months and everyone has settled back into their familiar routines and feelings of security Then Ruby s conviction is overturned and she returns to her home as if nothing has happened Of course no one is welcoming or happy to see her but emotions really get shaken up when the motive for her return is revealed She plans on finding out who the real killer is and getting revenge on everyone who turned their back on her THERE WAS NO PARTY theay Ruby Fletcher came home We had no warning no time to prepare ourselves Ruby is so manipulative and unlikable but The Illuminati: The Secret Society That Hijacked the World (English Edition) determined that it was fun to read about her Heretermination and perseverance were admirable and I enthusiastically looked forward to her bold and eventful behaviorThank you to Edelweiss Megan Miranda and Simon Schuster for this free igital ARC
